Expansion and new location planned for Q39

Q39 owner, Rob Magee announces the expansion of the original home of Q39 and announces 2017 plans for a highly anticipated new location in Johnson County.

39th Street Expansion:

On the heels of its second anniversary, Q39 is excited to announce the expansion of their original midtown location. The expansion is taking over the space directly west of their current home building. Construction for the expansion begins late summer and will be completed by early fall.

The additional space will include a large deck and indoor – outdoor bar covered by a water-tight pergola.  The additional forty eight outdoor seats are available for full-service during the warmer weather seasons, rain or shine.  On the interior, a second bar and fifty additional seats will be added.

The expansion will allow for more in-house private functions, reduce table waiting times, and help guest relax for any wait times during the busiest hours.

The new Q39:

Magee and the Q39 team are excited to open a new location in spring 2017. The new restaurant is located at 11051 Antioch Road, Overland Park in the former Hayward’s Pit BBQ space.

The space will undergo a complete interior and exterior renovation including new landscaping and a new parking lot. The restaurant’s design is the work of Arizona-based Realm Architecture + Design, who designed the original Q39 and other notable Kansas City restaurants.

The renovation’s all new floor plan will feature:

  • An urban-rustic interior resembling the interior of the original location
  •          Dining area with more than 200 seats
  •         A full-service outdoor dining area with seating for up to 104 guests
  •         Private dining space available for up to 25 guests
  •         Full-service bar with seating for up to 20 guests
  •         Large Q2GO area
  •         Waiting area
  •         Glass window butcher room
  •         Full-banquet kitchen that accommodates banquets of up to 3,000 guests

Magee selected this location in order to cater to his guests south of Kansas City. This location makes it convenient to customers in the Johnson County area who want award-winning barbecue.
