New Silver Anniversary Ale is the headliner at Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar collaborative beer dinner on Nov. 11

On Veterans Day, a portion of ticket sales benefit the Wound Warrior Project

Kansas City, Mo. (October 29, 2014) – Only a short time after opening its doors in Kansas City on Oct. 6, Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar is set to host a collaboration beer dinner with Boulevard Brewing Company and Colorado-based Odell Brewing Company on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. The dinner will celebrate Boulevard and Odell’s 25th anniversaries and Jax Fish House’s first month of operations in Kansas City. The main attraction of the evening is the Silver Anniversary Ale, a collaborative brew between Boulevard and Odell that makes its public draft debut in Kansas City on Monday, Nov. 10. Jax Fish House plans to offer the Silver Anniversary Ale on draft. Bottles of the ale will first be available to consumers on the same day as the collaboration beer dinner, Nov. 11.

The five-course farm-driven menu for the beer dinner is created by Jax Fish House Executive Chef Sheila Lucero and Pastry Chef Kelly Conwell and will feature beer pairings from each brewery.

Welcome Reception: Boulevard and Odell Breweries’ Silver Anniversary Ale

First Course: Sardines and Octopus – tomato, olive, eggplant, arugula, manchego, jamon
Beer pairing: Boulevard Brewery Saison-Brett

Second Course: Curried Heirloom Squash Soup – beer braised lentils, yogurt
Beer pairing: Odell Brewery Trellis

Third Course: New England Sea Scallops – celeriac, sea beans, hakurei turnips, fennel
Beer pairing: Boulevard Brewery Long Strange Tripel

Fourth Course: Smoked Oil Poached Sturgeon – fermented black bean fried eggplant, cabbage & Fuji apple slaw, xo vinaigrette 
Beer pairing: Odell Brewery Mountain Standard

Fifth Course: Black Tea & Vanilla Chiffon Cake - candied squash, spiced pumpkin creme, toasted cinnamon ice cream, brown butter, roasted walnuts 
Beer pairing: Boulevard Brewery Bourbon Barrel Quad and Odell Brewery Footprint 

The dinner will be priced at $65 per person and reservations are required by calling Jax Fish House at (816) 437-7940. Reservations are limited. $5 from each ticket sale will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Veterans Day, which falls on the same day.
