Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – April 15, 2015 – Mike Dershowitz, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of one of the rising stars of the solar industry, ModSolar, has been selected among the honorees for the 2015 40 Under 40 Awards from the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Dershowitz, 39, will be recognized at an awards program on the evening of Tuesday, May 19th at the historic Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building in Center City Philadelphia. He will also be profiled in a special section of the Philadelphia Business Journal on Friday, May 1st.
As noted in a special 40 under 40 section of the Philadelphia Business Journal website, “…Dershowitz co-founded ModSolar four years ago with a total cash investment of $3,500 in 2011. Last year, in just three short years, the company’s revenue increased 230 percent year-over-year, and it’s projected to grow 70 percent this year.
“ModSolar develops software that reduces the soft costs involved in solar sales, solar system design and production of solar proposals,” the article noted. “The company currently represents about 5 percent of the solar market in the United States, a nominator said. The company just launched in the United Kingdom and will launch in Germany in a few months. Prior to founding the company, Dershowitz was a design manager at JPMorgan Chase, where he established the mobile design department, leading his own team and creating award-winning products for the banking industry.”
ModSolar’s software enables solar providers to produce solar proposals and contracts in less than five minutes, including the company’s patent-pending software that enables placement of panels on an image of the prospect’s roof, as well as the calculation of the return on the solar investment. ModSolar develops software that dramatically reduces the “soft costs” involved in solar sales, solar system design, production of high-quality solar proposals, and all the paperwork surrounding solar installations.
Currently, close to $60 million per day in solar contracts are being generated through ModSolar’s software platform, representing an estimated five percent of the solar market in the United States. Thousands of ModSolar users produce approximately 4,000 solar proposals each week.
ModSolar’s corporate clients are major players in the solar industry including SunEdison, Enphase Energy, GAF, Kyocera and Astrum Solar.
