Alchemy Bicycles sponsors Zach McDonald

DENVER, Colorado — Four-time cyclocross national champion, Zach McDonald will be finishing out the season racing with Alchemy Bicycles. McDonald will race the 2016 USA Cycling National Championships aboard Alchemy’s Balius carbon frame complete with a SRAM Force 1 drivetrain, Zipp cockpit, and Chris King headset.

McDonald comes to Alchemy having finished on the elite national championship podium three times and is a four-time national champ in the Junior and U23 ranks. 24-yearold McDonald’s title sponsor is Streamline Insurance Services, with support from Source Endurance Coaching.

“When we heard Zach was racing without a frame sponsor, we jumped at the chance to get behind him,” said Alchemy’s Cody Baker. “A rider as highly decorated as Zach, who’s still so early in his career, adds to Alchemy’s reputation at an elevated level.”

McDonald, who’s widely considered the most gifted bike handler in U.S. cyclocross, will finish out the season racing the U.S. national championships in Asheville, North Carolina with the hopes of making USA Cycling’s world championships team.

Zach McDonald joins 2014 single-speed national champion Tim Allen, who’s been racing with Alchemy all season. In Asheville, Allen — who races with the Feedback Sports team — will race the single-speed event on Friday and will line up alongside McDonald in the elite races on Sunday. Both Allen and McDonald will end their seasons at Tokyo Cyclocross, where McDonald will look to take his third consecutive title.

“When you look at the last five national championships, the only two athletes with comparatively consistent results are Jonathan Page and Jeremy Powers,” added Source Endurance’s Adam Mills. “Zach is not yet 25 and his lowest finish at elite nationals is fourth. He's still growing physically and from what we can tell, he is an incredible asset to USA cycling at the international level.”
