Depew, N.Y. – SKM Group received a small business award at the 22nd annual Small Business Matchmaker & Awards Luncheon, held today at the Buffalo Convention Center.
Co-hosted by Buffalo Business First, the U.S. Small Business Administration and SCORE, a nonprofit aimed at helping entrepreneurs start and grow their enterprises, SKM Group was among only 43 small businesses chosen on the merits of their accomplishments as Western New York’s leading small businesses. The agency was nominated by Evans Bank.
“In the almost two years I’ve owned SKM, I’m proud of our renewed focus in reinforcing our Western New York roots and efforts to seek more business in our own backyard,” said Larry Robb, owner and CEO. “I’m looking forward to building more relationships with local manufacturing and professional service companies and having the support of Evans Bank as we continue to expand.”
The event was part of Small Business Week, which falls this year on May 12-16. Today’s small business exposition encompassed more than 800 people who gathered to network and utilize contracting opportunities between small and minority-owned businesses with federal, state and local government agencies and large corporations. The goal was to stimulate jobs and growth for Western New York small businesses. For more information about the event, go to Business First’s coverage.
