Rising Actress MADDIE MCCORMICK Added to Zach Braff’s New Dark Comedy Pilot “SELF PROMOTION”

LOS ANGELES (November 13, 2014) – Rising young actress MADDIE MCCORMICK joins the Zach Braff-directed TV pilot, SELF PROMOTION, in a recurring Guest Star role.

The new dark comedy for MTV revolves around an executive assistant who secretly takes over for her dragon-lady boss after she mysteriously disappears. The show stars Alexandra Krosney (Last Man Standing) in the lead role, supported by Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) and Nichole Bloom (Shameless) with McCormick stepping into the chaos as Lucy Belle.

The original script is penned by Mark Bianculli (The Waiting) with Steve Yockey (Awkward) on board to executive produce.

McCormick was excited by the opportunity, explaining “It’s always an actor’s dream to play someone so different from who they are in real life. Lucy Belle is my perfect foil; where I swear by To-Do-lists and am ridiculously type-A, Lucy Belle is a constant mess of emotion and rash decisions.”

This young and talented blonde beauty has built a solid reputation in Hollywood since graduating early and magna cum laude from UCLA. McCormick put her comedy skills to work with a stand-out guest starring role on Nickelodeon’s “Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures” and as the ex-girlfriend of Rock Anthony (Glee) in the indie romantic-comedy feature film, “Wal-Bob’s.”

Originally from Winnetka, IL (a suburb of Chicago), McCormick was drawn to acting at an early age. She attended New Trier High School, participating in their renowned theatre program where she was awarded the Goodman Theatre Award for her achievement in acting. She also studied improv and sketch comedy at Chicago’s famed The Second City and theatre training in Evanston at the highly-acclaimed Piven Theatre (home of Jeremy Piven and John and Joan Cusack).

Maddie McCormick is represented by Amsel, Eisenstadt, Frazier & Hinojosa Talent Agency (AEFH).
