Stowe, Vt. – PC Construction has been awarded a $58 million contract to build the next phase of Stowe Mountain Resort. Upon completion, the project will significantly expand family amenities and services at the internationally renowned year-round destination.
Spruce Peak Realty has once again tapped PC Construction, which has completed several other significant projects at the resort, to construct the 125,000-square-foot children’s Adventure Center and Alpine Club. The facilities will feature a ski/ride school, year-round daycare facilities and children’s activity center, retail shops, restaurants, food markets, ski valet space and 19 luxury condominium residences.
The project, designed by Bull Stockwell Allen, also includes amenities such as an 85,000-square-foot below-grade parking structure, an outdoor ice skating rink, a community pavilion and an outdoor plaza.
“Spruce Peak Realty is thrilled to be working with PC Construction on the next phase of the Spruce Peak at Stowe community,” said Sam Gaines, vice president and director of development for Spruce Peak Realty. “As the general contractor of several projects at Spruce Peak, PC Construction has delivered some of the highest-quality resort residences and amenity facilities ever built in the Northeast. PC Construction’s integrity and strong track record are tremendous assets as we embark on the most ambitious phase of the development to date.”
PC Construction looks forward to yet another winter season in the mountains of Stowe.
“Our portfolio of high-end resort properties continues to expand with the construction of this expansion at Stowe Mountain Resort,” noted Jay Fayette, senior vice president of PC Construction. “This project, like everything else we’ve built at Stowe, shows a strong commitment to families, community and sustainability.”
Phased construction completion will begin in November 2015, with final completion scheduled prior to the 2016-2017 ski season.
