It was a smashing event, now under repair

(Lander, Wyo.) - A $60,000 contract has been approved with a Lander construction company to rebuild parts of the Wyoming Department of Transportation's Lander office, which was damaged March 6 when a vehicle slammed into the side of the building.
Work began Monday on the Lander office structure.
SDI Construction of Lander is the prime contractor on the office repair project.
"There's immediate work to do to shore up the roof," said Wyoming Department of Transportation maintenance engineer Peter Hallsten of Basin. "The damaged part of the brick wall will be removed, and concrete masonry with the new brick facade will replace the damaged areas."
Public access will be limited by the office repairs. Business-related communications with Lander WYDOT personnel should be directed to 332-4151.
Hallsten said Lander building repairs should be complete by mid-August.
