Actor BRETT BAKER Gets Tough in New Zombie Thriller “MAGGIE”

LOS ANGELES (April 1, 2015) – Actor BRETT BAKER enforces the rules in highly-anticipated post-apocalyptic zombie thriller, MAGGIE, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin. The film comes from director Henry Hobson and will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival before Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions opens the film in select theaters and VOD on May 8th.

MAGGIE chronicles a loving father’s (Schwarzenegger) struggle to protect and care for his daughter (Breslin) who has been infected by an outbreak of a disease that slowly turns its victims into cannibalistic zombies. Baker joins in the tale as a military officer charged with keeping order amongst a population slowly being taken over by the infection.

Coming soon, Baker can also be seen in ABC’s period drama, THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB. Based on Lily Koppel’s best-selling book, the series tells the story of the women behind NASA’s early astronauts at the height of the space race. Baker joins the historically-based tale as the Campaign Manager for John Glenn during his Senate race.

Baker is thrilled at the variety of characters that have been coming his way recently, explaining "The chance to dive into such different worlds has been amazing. Jumping from a post-apocalyptic military state into a historical account of the early 70's space race -- this is the exciting part about being an actor."

Audiences will recognize Baker from his recent appearance on the big screen as part of Will Smith’s team of thieves in the crime-caper, FOCUS. He also earned big laughs as Alec, working alongside Jason Bateman and Jon Cho in the mega-hit comedy, IDENTITY THIEF.

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Baker has worked hard to build a solid resume and reputation in the industry. He has appeared in numerous feature films, including the Nicholas Cage thriller THE FROZEN GROUND, the heartfelt comedy BIG MIRACLE, alongside Jon Voight in the psychological thriller BEYOND and with Peter Weller in Forest Whitaker’s voodoo thriller REPENTENCE. Baker is also a talented musician, whose solo album titled BROKEN, chronicles his spiritual journey out of addiction.
