MET OPERA IN HD EVENT: THE MERRY WIDOW
JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING – The Grand Teton Music Festival and Center for the Arts co-present the Met Opera’s HD re-broadcast of a new production, The Merry Widow, this Thursday, January 29 at 7pm at Center for the Arts.
Sung in English, this operetta (part Broadway Musical and part Opera) is a unique and light way to “get acquainted” with this age-old art form. This enchanting production is filled with lavish party scenes and charming melodies, and even features can-can dancing! The Merry Widow is a Parisian-themed opera that will transport you to the Belle Époque in France! Renée Fleming stars as the beguiling femme fatale captivating all of Paris.
Our Met Opera season runs through March, with seven productions. After The Merry Widow, there are only two performances left this season: The Tales of Hoffmann (February 12) and Lady of the Lake (March 26). Experience New York’s Opera in Jackson while you can!
Tickets for all operas are $20 ($12 for students), and are available through the Center’s box office at 307.733.4900 or JHCenterfortheArts.org.
