Gainesville, FL - (April 7, 2015) – Social media professionals, communicators and entrepreneurs will come together on April 24 for the launch of Social Media Breakfast Gainesville. It is a social club for professionals in the Gainesville area who want to meet monthly to discuss the advent of social media and its application to business. The goal is to provide these individuals with possibilities for networking, partnerships, career changes, and to share best practices.
The topic of the first Social Media Breakfast Gainesville will be the Gif-Off between the UFAA and UGA Alumni Association using House of Cards vs. West Wing. The event’s main speaker will be Garrett Garner-Wells, assistant director of membership and philanthropy for the University of Florida Alumni Association.
This free event will take place on Thursday, April 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Peach Valley Cafe , 3275 SW 34th St, Gainesville, FL 32608.
"Social media best practices and platforms change so quickly that it's difficult to keep up with the latest trends, especially for small business owners or small communication shops. We hope Social Media Breakfast Gainesville can help us help each other get the most from social media ,” said Amanda Austin, UF Health social media manager.
“We hope to build a truly collaborative community. Social Media Breakfast Gainesville is part of a larger movement of similar social media breakfasts , which can now be found in 40 cities around the world,” added Cathy Hackl, founder of Global Trends Public Relations.
Social Media Breakfast Gainesville will be held on the last Friday of every month from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Peach Valley Cafe. The event is free to attend, but you can order breakfast from the menu.
