Grand Rapids, Mich., February 10, 2016 - UFP Harrisonville, LLC, a subsidiary of Universal Forest Products, Inc., (Nasdaq: UFPI) has introduced a line of trailer floors that are repairable, customizable and so durable that they’re unlike anything in the market today. These revolutionary floors are part of the Company’s new brand of specialty panels called SuperStratum™ and are being rolled out this week at the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers’ convention and trade show.
“Wood trailer floors absorb moisture and get damaged from cargo and objects on the road, so we created a floor that’s protected on both sides and that can be made to size and in custom colors,” said Chuck Krawczak, a regional vice president for Universal Forest Products. “All a manufacture has to do is set it in place. SuperStratum will be a game-changer for dealers, manufacturers and trailer owners.”
SuperStratum Dual Panels feature a Georgia Pacific DryMax® OSB Cargo Flooring substrate with a proprietary hot-melt polyurethane coating on one side and a tough, embossed laminate on the other. The exclusive coating has high abrasion resistance, and the rare scratches that do occur can be repaired easily with a companion spray-on material.
“Because the coating is easily repairable, a trailer floor built with SuperStratum Dual Panels will last far longer than non-protected wood trailer floors,” he added. “Trailer owners won’t need to worry about sealing floors.”
Dual Panel offers:
· One side protected with hot-melt coating; other side with laminate
· Repairable surfaces that are virtually impervious to moisture
· Extreme abrasion and impact resistance
· Textured, non-skid surface
· DryMax® substrate provides industry-leading moisture resistance, superior stiffness, strength and durability
· Custom sizes and colors
SuperStratum offers high-quality substrates sheathed in several types of coating, such as hot-melt polyurethane and laminates, which can be used in a variety of applications. For more information, visit www.superstratumpanels.com or call (816) 380-7600.
