Former Tasmanian ABC TV news presenter Barbara Cox has returned to the island state to launch a new office for communications agency Sequel PR.
For many years, Cox was a familiar face and voice on ABC TV and radio, before a move to Queensland and into public relations in 2011.
“After 20 years in media and five years working on some incredible local and national campaigns, I’m really excited to bring that communications experience home,” Ms Cox said.
“We do things differently at Sequel PR and I’m looking forward to offering a fresh alternative for Tasmanian businesses and organisations.”
Sequel PR General Manager Shaun Rigby said Tasmania teemed with innovative and artisanal companies, extraordinary products, and ground breaking organisations that deserved recognition nationally and internationally.
“Having worked in Tasmania for many years as both a political journalist and Ministerial media adviser, I believe the state punches well above its weight and we want more people to know about what’s going on and what’s on offer,” Mr Rigby said.
“Barbara is a proven communications professional driving campaigns for clients such as the RSL,CUB, the AMA and Youngcare. She has broad experience and deep connections in Tasmania, which are a powerful combination.
“She’s also backed by a strong team of senior media and marketing professionals who get results – with the right messages going to the right audiences.
“We’re looking forward to earning our Tassie stripes!”
