LOS ANGELES (December 18, 2014) – Actress LAURA NIEMI has just signed on to star in the new horror feature film, LAKE ALICE, slated to start principle photography in early January 2015.
Set in the snow-covered northern woods of Wisconsin, Natalie Thomas (Niemi) and her family find themselves being stalked and hunted as they fight to stay alive in a blizzard of blood-filled chaos. LAKE ALICE comes from emerging Director Ben Milliken and Producers Scott Miller (Gas Lamp Entertainment) and Lamar Billups (Glass Horse Films) from a script penned by Stevie Jane.
Niemi is excited to head back to the horror genre, explaining "Only in horror would I get to spend 3 weeks standing in 12 foot snow drifts. In Wisconsin. In January. Bring it on!"
Currently airing on Showtime, audiences will recognize Niemi for her role as Jillian, the Queen Bee of San Griento housewives, in the horror/comedy film, CHASTITY BITES. Coming in 2015, Niemi can be seen alongside Oscar-nominated actor Tim Roth in the dramatic feature, CHRONIC, the English-language debut of Mexican director Michel Franco’s acclaimed, AFTER LUCIA.
Niemi gained legions of fans from her recurring role as the Harlan County inmate, Sally, during Season 5 of FX’s wildly-popular TV show, JUSTIFIED. In addition, she has appeared in numerous network shows, including Guest Starring roles on BONES and RIZZOLI & ISLES; and on the big screen in the Steve Jobs’ biopic, JOBS, starring Ashton Kutcher.
