Australian Actor ARTIN JOHN Lands in Hollywood’s Hottest TV Revival “The X-Files”

LOS ANGELES (October 7, 2015) – Australian actor ARTIN JOHN has landed a role in the newest chapter of Chris Carter’s wildly popular television sci-fi mystery series, THE X-FILES, scheduled to premiere on FOX in January 2016.

The UNTITLED X-FILES REBOOT will reunite David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, who were engaged in a romantic relationship when fans saw them last. The new season quickly reveals their relationship has been severely fractured, but still turning to one another for help. John joins the action as a prominent character, guest starring along with Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose, in the episode titled “Babylon,” which is currently set as the fourth in the six-episode ‘event’ series.

John is thrilled at the opportunity to be part of such an iconic show, adding "Chris (Carter) is a very gentle and nurturing director, who also knows exactly what he wants; after all it is his baby. I know there are big expectations and lots of speculation, but I think the fans will be very pleased.”

Originally from Bondi Sydney, Australia, John has been building a solid resume since landing on the scene. Fans will recognize him for his roles as ‘Patrick Edward’ in the CW’s zombie dramedy iZOMBIE and as intern ‘Dr. Brian Matson’ opposite Mamie Gummer in EMILY OWENS M.D. His television credits also include roles on the CW’s THE TOMORROW PEOPLE and ARROW; A&E’s THE RETURNED and the WB’s award-winning sci-fi drama SUPERNATURAL.
This 22-year old’s creative endeavors are as diverse as his Greek Armenian Egyptian background. John added producer to his list of credits working on the documentary FORGOTTEN WARS, FORGOTTEN VICTIMS, executive produced by George Miller (director of MAD MAX franchise). Narrated by the infamous former Australian rock star turned missionary Themi Adams, the film sheds light on the conflict and reconstruction of West Africa.

Currently, John is in post-production as a producer/actor on the short film, 2BR02B: To Be Or Naught To Be, directed by Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominated VFX specialist Marco Checa Garcia with sound design by BAFTA winning sound designer Martin Cantwell (CASINO ROYALE). John is also in post-production as a producer on the short film I DARE YOU, which stars Harrison Houde and Sydney Scotia from the Netflix original series SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED; and in early development on the feature film ELEVEN DAYS OF HELL based on the true-life kidnap, torture and dramatic rescue of Australian Yvonne Bornstein.

Artin John is represented by Luber Roklin Entertainment (Los Angeles) and McMahon Management (Melbourne).
