The Glory Gospel Singers Set to Headline Winter International Tour in Belgium, Germany and Japan
The season seals a benchmark of 192 international tours in 188 countries led by Director, Phyliss Joubert
New York, N.Y. -- The Glory Gospel Singers; a New York-based aggregation of professional vocalists and musicians are set to headline an international winter tour with extensive repertoire in gospel and classical genre. The tour will commence with multiple ensembles in Germany (Nov. 23, 2014 - Feb. 25, 2015), Belgium (Dec. 5-7, 2014) and Japan (Dec. 6-25, 2014).
Under the direction of Founder, Phyliss McKoy Joubert; an award-winning Mezzo-Soprano, Arranger, and Clinician; the group will reach a benchmark of 192 tours in over 188 countries since its inception in 1995. The tour repertoire will include Joubert’s original arrangements of “Amazing Grace”, “William Tell Overture”, Japanese anime, along with other choice classical and gospel pieces.
Their spirit-filled voices have merited several prestigious awards and have been lauded by international critics for technical brilliance and expansive musicality. Most notably, their recording of “Stand on the Word” was bestowed a Jury Award at the Cannes Film Festival and is currently being utilized in the French Samsung Galaxy Phone commercial. They have also been Stellar Award nominees and a finalist for the Nodojiman World Competition for Nippon Television (Tokyo, Japan).
Joubert’s inspirational fusion of classical, gospel and soulful music textures are highly sought after and noteworthy. She has arranged innovative music design for an enchanting Japanese Anime album "Tenshi Ni Anime Song Wo" (Anime Songs for the Angels); also featured in world-renowned Studio Ghibli films such as "Ponyo," "Castle in the Sky,” and "Spirited Away”. Her exclusive arrangement of “Amazing Grace” is also a global favorite and now licensed to educational institutions throughout Germany.
