HOSEA FEED THE HUNGRY AND HOMELESS BREAKS A WORLD RECORD DURING THE 5TH ANNUAL "LABOR OF LOVE" EVENT

HOSEA Feed the Hungry and Homeless Breaks a World Record during the

5TH annual "LABOR OF LOVE" Event

This event is designed to energize the city and reignite citizens exposing them to potential employment opportunities.

(August, 2014 – Atlanta, GA)  Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless (HFTH) partners with Meet College Park, and the North Metro Career Center of the Georgia Department of Labor to host the 5th annual Labor of Love. This event has successfully given Atlanta citizens exposure to great job prospects and the opportunity to get back to work.  This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 10am to 1pm at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, Atlanta Ga 30337.

Labor of Love was created to reclaim some of the initial promise of Labor Day—a celebration of American labor and an inspiration that there is hope for American citizens. During the event, individuals will have access to job opportunities, they will also sharpen their job interviewing skills and job counselors will be onsite critiquing resumes.

“So much has happened in our society and people are polarizing themselves, says Afemo Omilami, Chief Operating Officer, Hosea Feed the Hungry, “Atlantans are looking for jobs, ways to sustain and build, they are not looking for a hand out they are looking for a hand up.”

This year, we are adding an additional component to our Labor of Love program.  Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless along with the support of its corporate partners, volunteers, and supporters will attempt to BREAK A WORLD RECORD for the MOST RELIEF PACKAGES ASSEMBLED SIMULATANEOUSLY.  Our goal is to supply the job applicants who attend our Labor of Love event with relief packages to take home to their families.   This event will take place during Labor of Love at 12 NOON, Saturday, September 6, 2014.  This will be a national campaign that will directly affect families in our immediate community.  Americans are still suffering disproportionately in the current financial crisis, according to the Department of Labor’s July report, unemployment still hovers around 6.1 percent nationally.   In Georgia, the unemployment rate sits at 7.4 percent.  Labor of Love was designed to meet the basic employment needs of so many.

Labor of Love will also have the traditional HFTH activities; fresh produce will be distributed to those in need.   This event is open to the public.  For more information about the event, please call Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless at (404) 755-3353.  For media inquiries please contact Ebony Porter-Ike,  ThinkZilla Consulting Group at 678-575-9104 or email PRTeam@itsthinkzilla.com.
