The 12th annual Career and Graduate Fair at Concordia University, Nebraska will be open to students and the Seward community from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, in the Cattle Conference Room of the Janzow Campus Center. The fair is hosted by Phi Beta Lambda, Concordia’s business career student organization, and will feature nearly 50 companies, nonprofit organizations and graduate schools.
“You can expect to find anything from internships to part-time and full-time jobs,” senior Zach Pilfold said. Pilfold serves as chairman and recruitment specialist of the fair’s organizational committee. “These companies are the ones who look to hire CUNE alumni. They are here because they enjoy our campus and our students and wish to bring students from here into their companies.”
Pilfold said the benefits of attending a career fair are numerous. Students and community members will have the opportunity to investigate positions and career fields related to their major area of study, meet representatives from organizations for which they are interested in working, increase chances of obtaining an interview with a particular employer, develop a network of contacts and receive job search advice from seasoned company recruiters.
Companies and schools exhibiting at the fair include Aflac, Assurity Life Insurance Company, CareerBum, Celerion, College Possible, Cleveland Chiropractic College, Crete Carrier Corporation, Concordia University Graduate Studies, Dardis Academy, Epworth Village, Fairbury Public Schools, Franklin Public Schools, Hudl, Lincoln Public Schools, Mission Hong Kong, Marathon Press, Monsanto, Mosaic, Nebraska Wesleyan University - Graduate Forensic Science Program, National Research Corporation, Nelnet, Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation, Nebraska Department of Administrative Service, Nebraska Families Collaborative, Nebraska National Guard, Northwestern Mutual, Omaha Public Schools, Region V Services, The Salvation Army - Gene Eppley Camp, Sandhills Publishing, Seward Economic Development Corps, Southeast Nebraska CASA, State of Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, Southwestern Advantage, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, University of Nebraska College of Law, U.S. Army, U.S. Bank, Verizon Wireless and Walmart, among others.
