Shanti Das, Accomplished Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Re-Releases Debut Book Hip-Hop Professional 2.0

Shanti Das, or “Shoestring” as she’s known in the music industry, has been a key element in the success of countless artists such as Outkast, TLC, Erykah Badu and Vivian Green to name a few. For over 20 years, Das has garnered skills from top music execs in the industry such as Antonio “L.A” Reid and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, which led her to taking her career to the next level, adding published author to her resume. In 2010, Shanti released ‘The Hip-Hop Professional: A Woman's Guide to Climbing the Ladder of Success in the Entertainment Business’, which received much acclaim in the music world. This book, a guide for women on climbing the success ladder in a male-driven industry, rang true to her personal motto; “If I shine, you shine”.

After receiving praises on her first authoring efforts from hip-hop heavyweights like Diddy, Andre 3000 and Kevin Liles, Shanti re-released her book fourth quarter of 2013, with a 2.0 version. The latest version features seven new chapters that tackle various issues including the importance of having balance in life, accountability, community involvement and the determination to win. Shanti has a personal mission of becoming a global thought leader, inspiring the professional development of young adults, with an emphasis on women.

As a result of the release of this book, Shanti has spoken on panels at numerous colleges throughout the country and is about to embark upon a college tour in the spring and fall of 2014, encouraging the next generation of  today's professionals. "I am super excited about the 2.0 version of 'The Hip-Hop Professional'. I picked up where I left off in 2010, when I walked away from my job to start a life as an entrepreneur. I tackle some important issues that I have experienced as an entrepreneur, and also social issues such as depression and charity. I want people to know that you have to be well rounded in life and understand what it takes to win on all levels." Shanti states.
