“I called this collection ‘Ready For Love’ because I want to encourage people to share love in abundance,” explains Nicole Bridger. “It was exciting to work with an abstract artist and manipulating the paintings into unique patterns for the new clothing designs.”
Taking two of Pawlak’s paintings, Bridger enlarged sections, repeated patterns and experimented with colour combinations until she felt the aesthetics worked for each piece. There are two main patterns in the collection, a repeating four-body linear silhouette detail and a repeating landscape sectional in colours evocatively named “solstice”, “storm” and “trust”. Highlights for this season include:
Honour Jacket ($178) – For cooler spring days the high-necked, angular cut of this jacket in the brown “stone” colour feels great in soft Tencel and breathable linen twill.
Bliss Pants ($212) – These light silk crepe pants have a lovely drape to them and come in the funky repeating figure print in the grey and cream “storm” colour palate.
Discover Jacket ($248) – Look stylish even in the rain with this jacket made out of recycled polyester, which is water resistant and has a beautiful suede finish.
Joyful Dress ($238) – A playful summer dress in a silk crepe and available in Pawlak’s multi-coloured landscape print.
Short Kimono ($184) – This light, Japanese inspired silk crepe kimono is ideal teamed with a bright summer dress.
Soulful Dress ($460) – A long, flowing dress in sheer silk georgette, stunning in the blue “trust” colour combination with Pawlak’s landscape print.
Ready For Love Scarf ($64) – An exquisite linen scarf with the blown up figure detail running through it comes in shades of white, blue and pink.
