KIRBY, WY (Feb. 29, 2016)— Wyoming Whiskey, maker of award-winning Small Batch Bourbon, will be participating in WhiskyFest in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, March 2nd. Wyoming Whiskey will offer samples of Small Batch, Single Barrel and limited amounts of Barrel Strength Whiskey for consumers to taste.

WhiskyFest offers whiskey fanatics the chance to try a vast variety of whiskies from around the world and talk to distillers, blenders and other whiskey aficionados. This is also the first time Washington, D.C. will be a part of the WhiskyFest line-up.

“Whiskey enthusiasts back east have been asking us how to get their hands on Wyoming Whiskey for years,” said David DeFazio, COO of Wyoming Whiskey. “We are proud that our hard work and success has afforded us this opportunity to share our bourbon with more Americans. WhiskyFest will be a fun night of bourbon tasting with patient and devoted followers who have been anxiously awaiting our presence. We also hope to get in front of new craft-spirit-explorers.”

Since it’s original batch was released in 2012, Wyoming Whiskey has undergone rapid expansion and has won over the taste buds of a wide fan base. The brand grew distribution from nine western markets in 2014 to 29 markets across the Midwest and Northeast in 2015. By mid-year 2016, Wyoming Whiskey aims to be sold in 41 U.S. states.

This past summer, Wyoming Whiskey released its first-ever Barrel Strength Bourbon. Ten gallons of 116-proof and twelve gallons of 120-proof bourbon sold out before it could even hit shelves.  There will be an extremely limited stock available to sample by request at WhiskeyFest.

A total of 111 bottles were produced, retailing for $199 in a paperless, minimalist bottle with enamel labeling. Of those, 96 were selected for sale. The Barrel Strength Bourbon was chosen for its excellence by Wyoming Whiskey distiller Sam Mead, with the support of industry specialist Nancy Fraley.

Whiskey Barrel Strength is intense, but smooth and oaky. It has notes of turbinado sugar, orange blossom honey, caramel candy, fudge and traces of clove, nutmeg and anise. A hint of smoke brings these flavors together.

Wyoming Whiskey will offer samples of its Single Barrel Bourbon that represents the top 1% of barrels from its three warehouses.  The Single Barrel has won numerous medals from international and craft spirits competitions and sells out almost immediately.

Wyoming Whiskey will also offer samples of its award-winning Small Batch Bourbon. It is amber in color, with a nose of sweet corn, molasses and clove. This medium-bodied whiskey has a vanilla, caramel, charred oak palate with a hint of citrus. The finish is smooth and mild accompanied by lingering notes of caramel and toast.
