More than 725 Attend Dartmouth-Hitchcock Education Program Orientations

Overwhelming number of applicants vying for limited number of medical assistant or pharmacy technician positions

LEBANON, NH-July 25, 2014- Dartmouth-Hitchcock and Vermont HITEC announced today that the two institutions have registered over 725 New Hampshire and Vermont candidates to attend one of two information orientation sessions scheduled on Monday, July 28th. Attending an orientation session is the first step in the applicant selection process to becoming one of 20 medical assistants or 10 pharmacy technicians to work at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

This program is a collaborative effort involving the U.S. Department of Labor, Vermont Department of Labor, NH Employment Security, NH Health Profession Opportunity Project, NH Works, Vermont HITEC, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

"The response to our joint partnership outreach initiative has been overwhelming," says Gerry Ghazi, President of Vermont HITEC. "There are currently 732 applicants registered to attend one of Monday's two orientation sessions."

Representatives from all partners of this initiative will be on hand to present details of the program and to answer questions from audience and press.
