Leadership Training Sessions Open to Fremont County Residents

Leadership Fremont County (LFC) is accepting applications for the 2016-2017 leadership training program open to all Fremont County, Wyoming residents. Full information is available on the Lander Chamber of Commerce website at

"LFC is a great way to learn hands-on leadership skills while networking with local entrepreneurs, artisans, and public and nonprofit leaders as well," said Lorre Hoffman, LFC President.

Nine monthly sessions allow participants to explore topics such as coalition-building, strategic planning, and conflict resolution across varied settings from Dubois, Atlantic City, and Wind River Indian Reservation to Lander and Riverton areas.

"Experiences gained through LFC helped me appreciate all the unique facets of our life here in Fremont County. I feel better prepared to help our community solve problems and face the future with optimism," said LFC graduate, Kemper Funk.

LFC Vice President Brian Fabel explained, “Students are able to take insights, skills, and contacts gained in Leadership Fremont County and apply them to community activities and organizations that they are already involved in or may become involved in as a result of this program.”

The Leadership Fremont County program was founded in 2003 by a joint steering committee comprised of representatives from the Riverton Chamber of Commerce, Lander Chamber of Commerce, Wind River Indian Reservation, Dubois Community Project, City of Riverton, City of Lander, NOLS, and Central Wyoming College.

The purpose of the program is to introduce and orient established and prospective leaders to the great community of Fremont County, identify individuals who have displayed a strong tendency toward civic involvement, and assist them in developing their potential to become community leaders.

The program starts in September 2016 with a full day registration session.  Generally, the sessions will be held on the third Thursday of each month from 8:00am-4:30pm. Tuition is $375.00, which includes meals and materials for each session.

The application and complete information is available on the Lander Chamber of Commerce website at or via email from LFC Board Member Terri Hays, or 307.856.9241.
