Washington Property Company (WPC) is bringing the acclaimed True Food Kitchen restaurant to its latest upscale apartment development, Solaire Bethesda. Upon opening in 2016, Solaire Bethesda’s street-level retail space will be occupied by the sophisticated dining concept based on the principles of best-selling healthy living author Dr. Andrew Weil.
The 6,400 square foot True Food Kitchen in Bethesda will be the second in the Washington, DC metropolitan area; the first opened just recently in the Mosaic District of Fairfax, VA. “We think Solaire Bethesda is the perfect location for True Food Kitchen,” said Daryl A. South, Senior Vice President of Development and Acquisitions, WPC. “Bethesda is home to the National Institutes of Health and is one of the nation’s most bicycle-friendly communities. We think this exciting restaurant concept will be a magnet for Bethesda’s discerning and health-conscious residents as well as visitors from all over the area.”
Joshua Gurland of WPC, represented by Lee Engle of Streetsense, negotiated the lease along with Tom Papadopoulos of Papadopoulos Properties, who represented Phoenix-based Fox Restaurant Concepts.
Developed by a partnership between Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts, and integrative medicine pioneer Dr. Andrew Weil, True Food Kitchen is inspired by Dr. Weil’s unique approach to a healthy lifestyle that encompasses body, mind, and spirit. True Food Kitchen’s menu offers flavor, freshness, quality, nutrition, and balance in a variety of healthy, organic, locally sourced foods. Options include not only vegetarian and vegan items but also crowd-pleasers such as burgers, pizzas, steaks, pasta, and desserts. The restaurant’s commitment to healthy living extends to its inviting and environmentally friendly interior finishes.
Solaire Bethesda, which broke ground in the summer of 2014, will offer 139 luxury rental apartments and a two-level underground parking garage along with the restaurant space. Strategically located at the corner of Wisconsin and Woodmont Avenues, Solaire Bethesda will be just 800 feet from the planned southern entrance to the Bethesda Metro station and Purple Line light rail station. In addition, WPC’s newest transit-oriented mixed-use development is just steps away from the popular shops, restaurants, and service establishments on Bethesda Row.
Solaire Bethesda is WPC’s third Solaire-branded luxury apartment community, following the 2012 opening of Solaire Silver Spring and the early 2014 opening of Solaire Wheaton. These distinct properties, totaling nearly 700 units, combine the finest amenities and unit finishes with close proximity to Metrorail’s Red Line.
