Bellstar Hotels & Resort launches the Support an Olympic Athlete Package with funds going to support Canadian ski cross racer, Brady Leman

CALGARY, ALBERTA, February 17, 2015 – With the anniversary of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, Bellstar Hotels & Resorts is launching the Support an Olympic Athlete Package at all of its B.C. and Alberta mountain resorts. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the Support an Olympic Athlete package will go directly to Olympian ski cross racer, Brady Leman’s “Push to the Podium” fundraising account.

The package includes a 2-night stay in a luxurious suite, as well as a signed welcome letter and personalized souvenir sent from Brady himself. The package is available at Bellstar’s collection of five boutique hotels including Solara Resort & Spa and Grande Rockies Resort in Canmore, Glacier Mountaineer Lodge, Palliser Lodge and Aspens at Kicking Horse in Kicking Horse.

A former alpine racer who switched to ski cross in 2008, Leman made a storybook return to competition in 2011-12 when he fought back from a series of serious injuries to win the season-opening World Cup race in Italy. The native of Calgary, Alberta, who broke his leg three times before completing his comeback, suffered heartbreak at the 2010 Olympics when he was added to the Canadian team to replace an injured teammate, only to re-injure himself and be forced to withdraw from the Games. Leman, who has eight career World Cup podiums, narrowly missed the podium at the 2014 Olympics, where he was the top-ranking Canadian male.
