Handmade Texas smokehouse meats and sides offer authentic taste and convenience

(AUSTIN, Texas) June 18, 2014 – Stubb’s Legendary Bar-B-Q, famous for its all-natural barbecue sauces, rubs and marinades, now makes delicious, smokehouse dinners at home quick and easy with new Stubb’s frozen meats and sides, available in select Wal-Mart stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana, along with stores in Wichita, Kansas, and Springfield, Missouri.

The new heat-and-eat line features Stubb’s bold, authentic Texas barbecue flavors and includes three USDA-certified, all-natural meats (MSRP $7.99–$8.99) that are prepared in Texas using traditional methods, then quickly frozen to seal in the flavor. Chopped Beef and Pulled Pork are hand-seasoned with Stubb’s Bar-B-Q Spice Rub and slow-smoked over hardwoods until tender, the same way that made C.B. “Stubb” Stubblefield a Texas barbecue legend. Stubb’s Spicy Smoked Sausage with Four Peppers and Cheddar Cheese has just the right amount of heat with fresh, chopped jalapenos, chipotle, chili and red peppers. Each package has three to four servings and includes a pouch of Stubb’s Bar-B-Q sauce.

The smokehouse sides (MSRP $5.99) come in three varieties. Stubb’s Cowboy Beans are mixed with seasoned ground beef and pork, Stubb’s Bar-B-Q sauce and brown sugar for a sweet and tangy flavor, while Mashed Sweet Potatoes are topped with chopped pecans for a real Southern taste. Creamy Serrano Cheese Spinach brings a touch of heat to the table with the sweeter, hotter serrano pepper that Stubb used in many of his favorite dishes.

“Stubb wanted to feed the world, and the new frozen meats and sides make it easy for a wider audience to enjoy his great barbecue recipes any day of the week,” said Rocky Stubblefield, Stubb’s grandson and brand ambassador. “We think he would have loved bringing these authentic, smokehouse foods to people all across this region that he called home.”

The fully cooked meats can be heated in the microwave and served alone, on a bun or in a tortilla for a quick, delicious, no-fuss meal. The classic sides round out any meal with mouth-watering flavors that will bring the whole family to the dinner table without having to be called twice.

Stubb’s frozen meats and sides are the latest easy weeknight meal solution from the nation’s No. 1 premium barbecue brand. The company has also launched new Stubb’s Cookin’ Sauces (MSRP $3.99), in four varieties including Bar-B-Q Slider, Chili FixinsTM, Hatch Chile and Smokehouse Bourbon, to let consumers create quick, delicious dinners using their own fresh ingredients and Stubb’s bold sauce and spice packets.
