*h/t Todd Werbelow, Wyoming Busines Council Agribusiness Division, Pitchenginecommunities* A Greybull man’s photo of cows gathered under a bare tree and silhouetted beneath clouds tinted gold, purple, pink and orange by the morning sun won the Wyoming Business Council Agribusiness Division’s eighth annual Ag Photo Contest. Todd Werbelow’s piece, titled “Morning Cows,” fetched the $300 grand prize and will be featured in a desktop calendar along with 11 other images captured by photographers around the state. A different dramatic silhouette, this of the sun glimmering between two
cowboys riding high on a hill, earned Douglas’ Helaina True a first place
nod in the youth division. True won $100 in prize money.
Other winners included:
- Stacy Atkinson, of Powell, won the Crops category for her photo “’Til
Atkinson also won the Best Edit category for her photo “Industrial Fall.”
- Gwen Shepperson, of Arminto, won the People/Recreation category for
her photo “Turnback Run.”
- Jennifer DeFreece, of Casper, won the Livestock category for her photo
- Lacee Sims, of Evanston, won the Scenic category with the photo
In all, 67 people submitted 671 photos for the contest. Category winners
netted $150 and the second place youth photographer received $50.
Business Council staff put photos through three rounds of judging.
“These photos showcase Wyoming’s strong agricultural heritage,” said Cody
