Councilman Josh Shorb resigns from Powell City Council

(Powell, Wyo.) - Here is a recap of the Monday, November 16 Powell City Council Meeting. Powell City Councilman Josh Shorb's final meeting as an elected official was last night as his resignation was formally approved at the meeting. Mayor Don Hillman added, "Thank you for your service, Josh. You've been a good addition to the council." Following Monday's meeting, the process for the remaining council to appoint a replacement will begin. There was also a public hearing for the consideration of a microbrewery liquor license from WYOld West Brewing Company, LLC. There were no comments, so the Council moved to approve the request of this liquor license, contingent upon WYOld West Brewing Company, LLC receiving their federal license. Owner of WYOld West Brewing Company spoke and noted, "Once the TTB approves the license, they can brew and sell immediately. Early next year is likely when they'd begin brewing." An engineering firm has been selected to start building the Shoshone Pipeline project which is scheduled for 2016. The recycling board announced the retirement of Mary Jo, effective November 30. There will be a committee meeting next Wednesday, November 25 to discuss plans for her replacement. A clean water loan of $395,000 was approved, as well as a new pickup for the city's water truck. The approved truck bid came in under budget at a price of $26,744. There will be a special meeting for liquor license renewals on Tuesday, November 24 at 4:00 p.m. #reboot #news
