(Cody, Wyo.) - Our community has once again come together in support of CHS teacher and coach Chuck Flickinger. Today, it has been confirmed that the $75,000 goal of helping Flickinger purchase a wheelchair-accessible van has been reached, in fact, surpassed! Over the past several months, our community raised a grand total of $80,000 to purchase a specialized wheelchair van and assist with defraying out of pocket medical costs for the Flickinger family. Flickinger became paralyzed in a CHS Wrestling Team car accident in the Wind River Canyon last March. [image: 0 (20).jpeg] On Thursday, November 19, Jalan Crossland and Teka Brock Band performed at a benefit concert which brought out several hundred folks in the community in support of Chuck Flickinger. CHS Science teacher, Deb White confirmed with Basin Reboot that $7,000 was raised at the benefit concert. Shortly thereafter, someone in the community made an anonymous donation of $6,000. Today, we learned that Sunlight Sports and SportsHQ in Cody announced a $5,000 joint grant to the Chuck Flickinger Relief Fund. "For such a small community, this is a massive amount of money to raise," White told Reboot. "It's perfect timing too, just in time for the holidays."
