Bronc academy helps coach Flickinger

(Cody, Wyo) - The Cody Broncs basketball team held their second annual basketball academy today, December 4th. The camp is designed to bring the younger kids of the community grades 1-3 a chance to learn basic fundamentals from the Cody Bronc players. The academy also severs another important role for the community. All the proceeds raised during the camp will go towards coach Ben Flickinger. Flickinger, suffered a car accident this past year, which left him paralyzed from the waist down. “We are just a small piece of this town that has reached out to help coach Flickinger and the students involved in the accident," Bronc assistant coach Jake Kraft stated. Bronc basketball head coach Dean Olenik, said, “When you’re in elementary school, the high school basketball players are amazingly cool. In our program, we strive to be really good role models, so this is our chance to show the kids good leadership skills at a young age.” With a Cody Bronc gym bag slouched across his shoulder, Kraft smiles and answers, “It’s a way to link the younger kids, with the high school players. It’s our chance to give back to the community - a community that we ask so much of.” #reboot #news
