1920s Cody Sulphur Miners

Today's Memory Monday is a great photo from the 1920s of sulphur miners. Brian Beauvais, Park County Archivist, said this mine was located west of Cody at the base of Cedar Mountain on the bench just south of West Yellowstone Ave. "It operated sporadically in various forms from the 19-teens until a fire destroyed the sulphur mill in 1958," Beauvior said. Sulphur in its natural form is processed into sulphuric acid which is used in products like fertilizers and drain cleaners. #reboot #news
