Thermopolis Special Olympics Competitor Struck by Car

Thermopolis Chief of Police Steven Shay confirmed today that 18 year old Spencer Luce was struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning and taken by ambulance to the hospital. Luce was crossing N. 6th Street at the intersection of Big Horn Street at 6:53am in Thermopolis. Two vehicles were traveling side by side in the same direction as he crossed, west to east. One was able to stop just in time but as he continued to cross the road he was struck by the second vehicle which did not see him. Spencer competed in the Wyoming Special Olympics several times including this October where he earned a gold medal in bowling for the Thermopolis team. We could not confirm the extent of his injuries at this time and the driver was not immediately available. #reboot #news
