(Bighorn Basin) – Here is the December 31, 2015 and the January 1, 2, 3 2016 recap of law enforcement activity in the Cody and Powell area. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Arrests/Citations: On January 2, 2016 Stephen Rex of Cody, 52 was arrested for Probation & Parole Violation. Total 911 calls – 11 *Cody Police Department* *December 31, 2015* At 10:00 a.m. a caller at the Senior Center on 16th in Cody had a trespass complaint saying she needs to have the below listed person trespassed from the premise. No Service. At 11:07 a.m. a stray animal was reported on Gentle St. Caller advised black and white border collie mix on the porch at this address. Caller advised it appears to be a stray, has been traveling the neighborhood for the last few hours. Nothing Found. At 1:17 p.m. a Motor Vehicle Crash occurred at Wal-Mart on Yellowstone Ave. 2 car fender bender in the parking lot. No injuries. Just south of Liquor store entrance. Silver Chevy Impala vs. Black truck. See Case. At 1:28 p.m. a caller at Kerper Blvd South in Cody reported there was an injured deer in the alley behind the residence. Assistance Given. At 2:51 p.m. Property Damage occurred at River Runners on Sheridan Ave. Caller reported someone struck the caller's van while it parked at the above location. See Case. At 6:05 p.m. an accident was reported to have occurred at Powell Hospital on Avenue H. Male in ER shot in the eye with bird shot while bird hunting. We're following up on this incident. *January 1, 2016* At 12:04 a.m. a caller on 10th St. called and reported a complaint about fireworks. Warning Issued. At 12:58 a.m. a caller at the Silver Dollar Bar reported a female subject was highly intoxicated. Assistance Given. At 5:06 a.m. a caller on Glen Ave. reported a disturbance. Anonymous caller reported loud music in the area. Unable to Assist. At 1:35 p.m. a caller on 22nd St. reported that she heard a gunshot in the direction of the old school, north of the RP. Unable to Locate. At 2:26 p.m. an Auto Burglary occurred at Sunset House Restaurant on 8th St. Caller had an iPad Air taken from the front seat of her vehicle. Black in color, black case. At 3:18 p.m. an Intoxicated Subject Occurred at Sheridan AVE/13th St. Subject standing in the road trying to flag down a ride. Grey hat bandana, chain on wallet. Older male, no coat, t-shirt. West bound lane. Assistance Given. At 9:25 a.m. a caller on Buena Vista Ave. reported a deer injured-may have been hit by a car - flailing around in the roadway in front of driveway. Assistance Given. *January 2, 2016* At 12:08 p.m. a caller on 20th St. stated that there is a dog running around in the area. Short haired, brown and white dog. Medium sized dog. Unable to Locate. At 12:46 p.m. a caller on Buena Vista Ave. reported a dead deer by the telephone pole and electrical box behind her house. At 7:47 p.m. a caller on 14th St. reported that she received a strange call from a male advising him that he needs to be aware of his surroundings and has his plate information and got his contact number from LE. Caller believes this may stem from a driving incident on highway 120 where a car was following him, then sped past the caller. Informational. At 10:38 p.m. a caller on 17th St. reported a driver was all over road, crossing over lanes area of Albertsons downhill to G2G - tan 2 dr pu, young male, black jacket w/ball cap. NEG DUI. Driver was warned for expired registration. *January 3, 2016* At 12:41 p.m. a caller on 16th St. would like officer to assist her in locating her husband because she has not heard from him since they quarreled and she asked him to leave on 12/28. Caller was calling from his phone since he left it there. She wants him to know he can come home. Assistance Given. At 2:40 p.m. a caller at Big Horn Cinemas on Big Horn Ave. Delayed - caller's vehicle was struck while parked in the lot of BH Cinemas on Friday btwn 3-6 pm. There's damage to entire drivers side. There was some existing damage to the rear qtr panel and bumper from prior deer crash. Caller currently at Albertsons and will come to LEC for officer to inspect when done. Assistance Given. At 7:09 p.m. a caller at Lockhart Inn on Yellowstone Ave. reported a building burglary. Caller returned home from work found her door to her room kicked in. Not sure if anything is missing. *Powell Police Department * *December 31, 2015* At 1:40 p.m. a caller on E 1st St. called to report of a shoplifter in the liquor store. Officers responded and after investigation, Henry Gutierrez, 48, of Powell was issued a citation for Shoplifting. At 11:23 p.m. an officer initiated activity at S Fair St/W North St, Powell. A traffic stop was performed and after investigation, Katelyn Bonnet, 19 of Powell was arrested for Youthful DWUI, cited and released. See Case. *January 1, 2016* At 3:46 p.m. Domestic Occurred on N Bernard St. Received a report of a domestic dispute. Officers responded and after investigation, Cesar Bentancourt, 32, of Byron was arrested on charges of Assault, Interference with a Peace Officer, Breach of Peace, Criminal Entry and Property Destruction. He was transported to the Park County Jail. See Case. At 4:12 p.m. Domestic Occurred at Delaney Ct/N Absaroka St. Received a report of 2 males arguing, 1 of the males was inside a vehicle and the other was outside the vehicle. Officers responded and made contact with a father that was arguing with his son. The son eventually got in the car and went home with his father. Completed. At 11:34 p.m. a Traffic Complaint Occurred on N Beckman St. Received a report of a vehicle spinning around in this area and then the reporting party observed several people standing by the vehicle. Officers made contact with the people and they said the car had run out of gas and they were waiting for someone to bring it. Disposition: Completed. *January 3, 2016* At 10:45 p.m. Trespass Complaint Occurred on E 1st St. Powell. Received a request for law enforcement to assist in removing a patron who had been trespassed previously. Officers responded and Peter Ferfes, 33, of Powell, WY was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication and Interference with a Peace Officer. He was transported to the Park County Jail. Warning Issued. *Park County Sheriff's Office* *December 30, 2016* At 11:54 a.m. a car vs elk motor vehicle crash at MP34 on Hwy 14-16-20 W, Highway 14-16-20 W near Cody. MVC / car vs. elk. *December 31, 2016* At 2:15 p.m. a caller on Highway 296 in Cody reported his daughter got into an argument and left the cabin. Has not been seen since. Caller drove the highway 5 miles in each direction. LSW black pants and a white Columbia jacket with a little black & pink design. Assistance Given. *January 1, 2016* At 1:41 p.m. a caller at MP20 on Hwy 295 on N Absaroka St. in Powell. Caller asked a deputy drive by the above location to check for hunters possibly hunting from the highway. Gone On Arrival. *January 2, 2016* At 8:18 a.m. a building burglary occurred at Cowboy Bar on State St. , Meeteetse. Caller states that the bar door was kicked in, and the bar was ransacked. See Case. At 5:42 p.m. a caller at Highway 14A/HAPPY Trails Dr in Cody reported a White cow is loose - was near the HWY, but RP scared it further up onto Happy Trails - unknown where it belongs. Returned to Owner. At 5:51 p.m. a Motor Vehicle Crash occurred at Kamms Corner on Highway 294/LANE 11 in Powell. Vehicle in the barrow ditch has front end damage- male driver sitting up but not getting out. Male is acting strange per caller- this will be on Lane 11 by stop sign @ intersection. #reboot #news #dispatch
