Arrest made in Clark animal neglect case

(Clark, Wyo.)- On Friday, January 15, 2016, an arrest warrant was issued for Michael Aaron Wood, age 39 of Clark in connection with the death of several of his horses from apparent neglect. The deceased horses were discovered on Wood’s property in Clark on January 7, 2016. A total of seven deceased horses were discovered as well as six other horses who also displayed signs of neglect. Sheriff’s deputies subsequently located Wood on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and arrested him pursuant to the warrant on 13 counts of animal neglect. He is currently being held in the Park County Detention facility. Pursuant to search and seizure warrants, all of Wood’s remaining animals were seized by sheriff’s deputies for their well-being.
