Dispatch: IRS scam reported, child bitten by dog, one arrest

(Bighorn Basin, Wyo.) – Here is the Thursday, January 21, 2016 recap of law enforcement activity in the Cody and Powell area. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. *Arrests: * Sydney Rae Skiver 19, Failure to Comply *Cody:* Officer initiated activity at Wal-Mart, in reference to a report of shoplifting. Assistance Given Occurred on Yellowstone Ave. Front door alarm with a female on scene she did not have a pass code will call key holder. False Alarm. *Powell:* While on patrol, an officer made contact with a male subject that the officer witnessed exiting a vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated. After investigation, Wilson Renner, 19, of Meeteetse, was cited and released for youthful driver with a detectable amount of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance. Logan Maurer, 19, also of Meeteetse, was also cited for possession of a controlled substance, underage drinking and released. Occurred on N Absaroka St. Police received a report of an IRS scam that a resident received on the phone. The caller did not give any information to them. Occurred on N Douglas St. Officers received a report of a child that had been bitten by a dog. The case is under investigation. #reboot #news #dispatch
