Alleged animal abuser faces new charges. Sought by sheriffs.

(Big Horn Basin, Wyo.) -On Friday, January 22, 2016, an additional arrest warrant was issued for Michael Aaron Wood, age 39 of Clark in connection with the death of several dogs under his care due to apparent neglect. On Wednesday, January 13, the Park County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding two dead dogs inside a horse trailer on Wood’s property. Pursuant to this information, a search and seizure warrant was executed on the Wood property the following day. Subsequent to the execution of the warrant, deputies indeed discovered two deceased dogs inside the trailer as well as an addition dead dog inside the residence. All of the animals appeared to have died from neglect. Deputies also discovered three live dogs and three live cats on the property. These animals appeared to be in good health and were seized to insure their well-being. Wood had previously been arrested on January 15th in connection with the death of several of his horses, also from apparent neglect. The deceased horses were discovered on Wood’s property on January 7th. A total of seven deceased horses were discovered as well as six other horses who also displayed signs of neglect. Wood was arrested on 13 counts of animal neglect and was released on bond awaiting trial.
