Dispatch: Fraud complaints and two arrests

(Bighorn Basin, Wyo.) – Here is the Wednesday, February 3, 2016 recap of law enforcement activity in the Cody and Powell area. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. *Arrests:* Mario Almodovar aged 52 arrested on warrant Stephanie Rose Wright aged 23 arrested on bond probation revocation *Cody: * Occurred on Blackburn Ave. RP states the ex-employee has stolen 2 four wheelers. *Powell: * Occurred on W Coulter Ave. Police received a complaint from a person who said they sent a Money Gram to a woman who the caller had been e-mailing back and forth with to buy a cat. The caller then had to send a second Money Gram for insurance for shipping the cat here. They said they got the second Money Gram back, because the website disappeared and the woman will not e-mail back. The case is under investigation. Occurred on N Absaroka St, Received a complaint from a resident who keeps getting phone calls from Kohl's Department Store trying to get their social security number. The caller said he doesn’t give them his social security number, but they continue to call even though he refuses to give them any information. An officer spoke with the caller and gave him some options on how to handle this situation. The incident is still under investigation. Occurred at Lane 11 1/2, Powell. Received a report from a resident who received a phone call from a subject with a very heavy accent from a 907 area code. They asked if the caller had a red/white/blue card. They then asked for their Medicare card information. The resident did not give them any information, but wanted law enforcement to know about it #reboot #news #dispatch
