Search and Rescue members received instruction on proper riding techniques, first aid and survival kills, avalanche awareness, and the proper techniques for recovery of stuck snowmobiles. “Training is essential to mission success,” commented Sheriff Scott Steward who also participated in the training. “This type of hands-on field instruction is invaluable not only to familiarize members with proper riding techniques, but also to familiarize members with the area and the local trail system. We hope we never have to put this training to use but if the need arises, we’ll be ready.” Sheriff Steward also praised local experienced riders Mike Kelly and Craig Carroll both of Cody who assisted in training the Search and Rescue members.
