Police seek help in dog shooting

(Cody, Wyoming) - On February 5, 2016 at approximately 1:30 p.m. the Park County Sheriff's Communications center received a report of a dog being shot from a moving vehicle in the area of 71 Green Creek Road on the North Fork. Christina Wray, age 65 reported her Black Lab Corgi cross had been playing outside near where her driveway intersects Green Creek Road approximately 75 yards from her home when it was wounded from an apparent passing vehicle. When the investigating deputy arrived, he met with Greg Giggey, age 51 who also resides at 71 Green Creek Road. He explained that around 11:00 a.m., he was outside the residence when he heard a gunshot and then the dog yelping. He walked around a pine tree near the house and saw the dog running towards him yelping in obvious pain. He discovered what looked like a bullet hole in its right rear leg. Giggey then ran to end of the driveway where he discovered blood spatters in the packed snow and a blood trail from the road into the soft snow and sagebrush towards the house. He did not see the vehicle or person responsible for the shooting. The dog was taken to a local veterinary clinic where it was treated and released for the bullet wound. The bullet had passed through the upper right rear leg area with no major damage. Anyone who has any information regarding the possible suspect vehicle or identity of the shooter is asked to contact the Park County Sheriff’s Office at 307-527-8700. #reboot #news
