Cody Trooper back in action after surviving terrible crash

(Wyoming)- Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper Rodney Miears has back to full duty today after recovering from injuries sustained in a major two vehicle crash on June 15th, 2015 Miears was traveling east on US 14/16/20 near mile post 33 near the entrance of the Yellowstone Valley Inn west of when a westbound semi which had slowed to turn left into the Yellowstone Valley Inn collided with his patrol car. The driver had turned left and then failed to yield to Trooper Miears. [image: Miears RI (2).JPG] Miears braked and swerved right in an attempt to avoid the truck, but the two vehicles still collided. The collision pushed the patrol vehicle into the ditch and pinned Trooper Miears in his patrol vehicle. Officer Miears suffered multiple injuries including a fractured back and nerve damage as a result of the crash. Miears credited the fact that he was wearing his seat belt during the impact for preventing more severe injuries and saving his life during the crash. His patrol car will now be displayed around the state as a reminder to everyone the type of crash that can be survived when your seat belt is in use. Trooper Miears has been waiting to return back to work and is excited to be once again be on patrol. [image: Miears2.JPG] #reboot #news
