The Olympics are Coming to Cody

(Cody, Wyoming) The 2016 Wyoming Winter Senior Olympics come to Cody February 18-21. The Wyoming Senior Olympics Winter Games includes alpine skiing, basketball events, nordic skiing, pickleball, racquetball, snowshoeing, swimming events, an indoor mile walk and mile run. Registration is still open for all non bracketed events and will remain open up until the start of those events. Event organizers informed Basin Reboot that while registration is open it is helpful to pre-register which can be done at . The Wyoming Senior Olympics is not only athletic competition. There will be social events for the athletes as well including dinners and events at Big Horn Cinemas and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. The Schedule of events are as follows: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH 12 pm Registration/Check in opens Paul Stock Aquatic & Recreation Center. Racquetball Tournament ~ Singles, 1 - 7 p.m. Indoor Mile Walk: Times available between noon - 6 p.m., choose a time upon check in Indoor Mile Run: Times available between noon - 6 p.m., choose a time upon check in SOCIAL EVENT: Special Screenings of the documentary film, Unbranded, the epic journey of four young men attempting to ride 3,000 miles from Mexico to Canada on America's wild horses. Screenings are FREE to athletes and just $5 per guest. Showing at Big Horn Cinemas at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH 7:00am – 6:00pm Registration/Check In, Paul Stock Aquatic & Recreation Center, 1402 Heart Mountain Street Indoor Mile Walk: Times available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., choose a time upon check in Indoor Mile Run: Times available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., choose a time upon check in Pickleball: Mixed Doubles, Men's Doubles & Women's Doubles, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Swimming: 1650 Yard Freestyle, warm up at noon, race at 1 p.m. Nordic Skiing (5K & 10K Classic races): Racers meeting at 9:30 a.m., race start at 10 a.m. Pahaska Tepee/Park County Nordic Ski Association Nordic Trails. Wax service available. Apline Skiing (Giant Slalom): Course inspection at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., races 1 - 4 p.m. Sleeping Giant Ski Area. Racquetball Doubles: 3 to 7 p.m. SOCIAL: A Night at the Museum, 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a private tour of the Draper Musuem of Natural History at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, followed by a musical show by Dan Miller. The evening includes heavy appetizers as well, a $45 + dollar value offered to athletes for $10 and $15 to guests.
