(Wyoming) The bill that would have allowed people to carry concealed guns into governmental meetings in Wyoming missed an important deadline this Friday. The bill was needed to be reported out of committee before the deadline occurred or it could not be approved by the State Senate for the 2016 session. The bill entitled House Bill 86 had passed the House of Representatives
and would have repealed the gun
free zones that exist for state and local governmental meetings.
The bill was never reported out of committee, and it was never acted on by
a Senate committee so that means the bill is dead for the 2016 session.
House Bill 86 was the latest effort by made by legislators to expand the
right to carry concealed weapons, and was narrower than other legislative
bills. Previous bills proposed would have allowed concealed weapons to be
carried into schools, college campuses and sporting events.
