5 things to do this weekend in the Basin

The weekend is here! If you don't have anything planned here are some fun things you can do close to home: *3rd annual Cabin Fever Vendor show Saturday, 10:00am - 2:00pm* Hosted by the Holiday Inn. *The WY Outdoorsmen Banquet is going on Saturday, 4:00pm* Head to the Riley Arena The Wyoming Outdoorsmen is a non-profit organization that raises money for Big Horn Basin youth, 4-H and disabled hunters in assisting them to get out and enjoy nature through hunting, fishing and camping. Their annual fund raising banquet has various drawings along with raffles, live and silent auctions, and guest speakers. *Homesteader Museum reopens for the season Saturday* This year presentation is "Powell's First Decade: On the Lighter Side," a reader's theatre chronicling the pioneer town of Powell during its first 10 years. Created by historian and farmer, Beryl Churchill, the program highlights some of the livelier stories that were not included in the 2009 Powell Centennial book. The program and a reception follow the Homesteader Museum's short annual membership meeting at 2 p.m. The public is invited to become a member the day of the program. *Clean the Shoshone Saturday at 8 am* The Wyoming Game and Fish Department, East Yellowstone Chapter of Trout Unlimited, The Nature Conservancy, and Cody Wild West River Fest will be hosting the annual Shoshone River cleanup Saturday Volunteers willing to help should meet at 8 a.m. at the Shoshone Riverway Access near the Belfry Bridge, where they will be assigned to one of several work crews. The cleanup should be completed by early afternoon. Volunteers should dress in clothing appropriate for work and weather and bring gloves, a sack lunch, and if possible, waders. *Gestalt Studios in Powell is hosting a drawing series Saturday at 1pm * This drawing series is for anyone from beginners who'd like to get into drawing to seasoned artists interested in broadening their scope. Each class is offered on Saturdays from 1 – 4 PM. They also take a Field Studies trip out to the Big Horn National Park at the end of the series on May 7th. #reboot #news #whatshappening
