Cody High School presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's CINDERELLA

Cody High School is proud to announce their upcoming production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA. Performances will take place Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15 at 7 pm and Saturday, April 16 at 2 pm. Admission is “Pay-What-You-Can” and will be accepted at the door. In addition to the performance, a character breakfast fundraiser “Breakfast with Cinderella” will take place at the Cody Holiday Inn QT’s restaurant on Saturday, April 16 from 8:30 to 10:30 am. Proceeds will benefit the CHS Drama Club. An updated version of this classic fairy tale was revived on Broadway in 2013 and is currently touring the country. Cody High School will present the “enchanted” version, which most resembles the 1997 rerelease of the musical starring Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her fairy godmother. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA was the most widely viewed program in the history of television musicals. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits. Cinderella dreams of a better life and with the help of her Fairy Godmother (Senior, Madison Reeder), Cinderella is transformed into a Princess and finds her Prince (Junior, Caden Crooks). With memorable songs such as, “The Prince is Giving a Ball,” “In my own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” and “Impossible,” CINDERELLA reminds us that impossible things are happening every day!
