Cody Center for the Performing Arts at Dance Excellence

(Cody, Wyo.) - 11 dancers from Cody Center for the Performing Arts, Director Angie McKenzie, Assistant Director Laura Fambro Cook, teachers Will Grimm, Karen Grimm, CCPA Alumni and current Director of Limelight Dance Factory in Buffalo, WY, Makenzie Sauers, a student from her studio and 7 other Chaperones all represented Wyoming at Dance Excellence's 25th Anniversary Celebration in California a few weeks ago. "CCPA is proud to have represented our state 10 times over the last 17 years," notes Angie McKenzie. "It was a week jam packed with inspiration and fun. The kids really danced their hearts out. I couldn't be prouder of them." Dance Ex is a weeklong celebration of dance. Approximately 800 dancers from across the country as well as international students attended this year. CCPA dancers started the week Sunday afternoon, took 21 classes throughout the week, watched a private performance of LA dance companies in concert, and had a surprise visit by Dancing with the Stars', Derek Hough who spoke to everyone about his secrets to success. CCPA dancers also performed a 10 minute show in Disneyland at the Fantasy Land Theater and performed two dances for international performance boards. Charlie Chaplin served as CCPA's inspiration for their performance.
