Master Sergeant Doug Siggins of Powell to retire; Ceremony in his honor tonight

(Powell, Wyo.) - Master Sergeant Doug Siggins of Powell joined the local Wyoming Army National Guard unit, Bravo Battery, 1-49th Field Artillery in 1984. For the past 11 years he has served out of the Powell Armory. During this time he supervised a total of nine recruiters out of various locations including Lander, Casper, Sheridan, Gillette, Worland and Powell. "I've really enjoyed working with the youth," Siggins said. "When young people join they come into the local unit and stay for a great length of time, so I really get the chance to build relationships with them and their families." Siggins has announced his retirement and he invites the entire community to join him at his *retirement ceremony tonight at Trinity Bible Church in Powell* (535 South Evarts). The ceremony begins at *7:00 p.m. * Siggins doesn't plan on slowing down in retirement. He is one of three Pastors at Trinity Bible Church in Powell and he'll continue serving in that role. His son, Colby Siggins, is part of the Wyoming National Guard and he'll be on his way overseas in the next few weeks. Colby is part of Bravo Battery 2-300th Field Artillery Battalion headquartered in Lander, and their main mission over the course of the next year will be to shoot rocket artillery at their stationed location overseas.
