Strong winds damage old ostrich farm in Powell

(Powell, Wyo.) - Christy Muecke of Powell shared several photos with Reboot showing the damage of Saturday's strong winds in Powell. According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, wind speeds reached 55 miles per hour in Powell and 76 mph in Clark. See wind speed list below: EMBED Muecke said of the photos: "The old ostrich farm was hit by some serious wind. Looks like a mini twister hit it. Tin was thrown all over Steve and Julie's field and across the road too." The former ostrich farm, now a 163 acre horse and farming property, is located on Lane 11 1/2 in Powell. Reboot talked to farm owner William (Chuck) Zachary this morning and he's fairly positive the entire structure is a complete loss. However, Chuck did say "the west side isn't as bad," which for them was lucky as they house three tractors and one pick-up truck on the west end. Chuck mentioned they have Farm Bureau Insurance and an agent is scheduled to come out to the farm tomorrow, Tuesday, May 24th.
