Video + facts to get you stoked for the opening of the Sleeping Giant Zipline

(Park County, Wyo.) - Tomorrow at 9 a.m., the Zipline at Sleeping Giant Ski Area officially opens for the season. Here are some facts about the Zipline: - The Sleeping Giant Zipline consists of five zips and six arrival/departure platforms. - There is an option to free jump/fall off the Zip 5 platform, which will be about 37 feet high. - Zip line riders will use a double point of contact of harness that ensures they stay facing forward, and allows them to somewhat direct their forward-facing angle. - About 10 or 12 people at a time will be the max number for the groups taking the Sleeping Giant Zipline journey together. The minimum weight to zip is 60 lbs. - It’s two parallel ziplines throughout so riders can zip side by side. Each zipline runs 3,533 feet at the Sleeping Giant Zipline, for a total of over 7,000 feet of zipline. - Only the Bighorn ski lift at Sleeping Giant will be used for the zip line operation, which is all on the east side of the Sleeping Giant area of the mountain. - For those who choose to take the full ride, the Sleeping Giant Zipline experience will take a total time of about an hour and a half. - This isn’t the biggest zipline, but it’s a very rugged, scenic zip line, making it an epic ride despite its relatively short travel distance. "We strongly encourage people to call ahead and make reservations should they want to ride the full zipline," said a Sleeping Giant Ski Area representative to Reboot in an email.
