(Cody, Wyo.) - This Saturday, the Horseshoe Bend Marina will host its first-ever Fishing Derby and Full Moon Party. According to Mark Garrison, the organizer of the event, the three heaviest fish can be mixed and matched by species -- Sauger, Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, Trough - any kind, Ling, Catfish. The winners will receive a portion of the derby participant entry fees after expenses -- 1st place will get 30%, 2nd place will get 20% and 3rd place will get 10%. The Fishing Derby starts at 6 a.m. sharp, so the marina will be open at 5 a.m. to serve breakfast and check people in. People will then leave from Horseshoe Bend Marina. Everyone must be back and have their catch weighed in by 4:15 p.m. The participants will then head to dinner and the awards ceremony in the covered pavilion. "Then the band starts up and there is a party on the beach until 10 p.m.," said Garrison. The Full Moon Party will feature a free concert on the beach featuring Doc Field's Cyberdelic Voodoo. Twenty percent of the proceeds following payout will be donated to the Hyart Theater in Lovell for the re-roofing project. "We have had a ton of interest.
