Injured Horseback Rider Evacuated from Kitty Creek

(Cody, Wyo.) - On Monday, June 27, 2016, members of the Park County Search and Rescue Unit working in conjunction with the West Park Hospital Wilderness Medical Team safety evacuated an injured horseback rider from the Kitty Creek drainage, approximately ½ mile from the Kitty Creek trail head. The trailhead is located just south of Highway 14-16-20W, nine miles east of Yellowstone National Park. The call came into the Park County Sheriff’s 911 Communications Center at 5:03 p.m. An employee of the Crossed Sabers Ranch advised that one of their wranglers, Joshua Foster, age 28 had fallen from his horse and was complaining of back pain and possible broken ribs. Upon reaching the victim, members of the Wilderness Medical Team were able to stabilized Foster. After which the Search and Rescue Team immobilized him and placed him on a wheeled back country stretcher for transport to a waiting West Park ambulance. Foster was taken to West Park Hospital where his condition is unknown at this time. [image: 0 (8).jpg] #reboot #news
